On the off-chance I attended the Bitton (Steam railway) here in Bristol for their 'war time weekend'.

I attended in WW2 garb ( well, as close as I could get!) and drove the Panhard - post war I know, but it interested the crowds! Was 'interesting' especially Keynsham high street at mid day!
It was very busy and was extremely atmospheric with period dressed visitors, war time music and of-course the two steam trains running evacuees and troops alike, up and back down the line.
Free train rides and discounted food for the re-enactors, it was a very welcoming and friendly affair.
The Panhard was so popular I even had to eject two young 'enthusiasts' from it, and it proved of interest to Bill Bailey - the comedian - as he made a flying visit!
Well worth a visit, as its on tomorrow as well. I will be adding it to the FARG 'tour of duty' for next year. It will be quite straight forward, as much of our kit is similar to WW2, so the transition was seamless!.
I hope to see you there!
